Better late then never!

And in more ways than one...
I am not just talking about not posting for a few months. Because after A LONG time waiting we are finally going to have a baby! Ryan and I are so excited! After being told that having our own child may not be a possibility for us it is truly a humbling experience to be blessed with such a miracle. This baby is suppose to come on Halloween but I just hope it comes while its dad is in town and not away at a football game.

7 months, 30 lbs, 5.5 miles, and 1hr 3mins later I finished my last leg of the Red Rock Relay!! I was not that fastest runner, I did not run the furthest legs, but I FINISHED! I

reached my goal running EVERY step of the way! In all I ran 3 legs of the relay 3 miles, 3.4 miles, and 5.5 miles. After 30 and a half hours our team The FIT the FAT and the ELDERLY came in about 90th out of over 200 teams!

I AM NOT A RUNNER, never have been, I can remember dreading run day in middle school because I knew that I could not run a mile. I have never had any desire to run unless I was chasing something important and even then I had limits. So even though it may not sound like much to most people this was a HUGE accomplishment for me. I can still remember the pain in my muscles and the burn in my lungs when I went running for the first time in March. I was disappointed that day when I couldn't make my goal of running for 5 mins straight. But was determined to shed some lbs and get healthier.
This and all of the time and sweat it had taken me to get to this moment was playing over in my head during the hour it took me to run my last leg of the relay. Thinking about how far I have come in the last 7 months I was unashamedly in tears when I handed off the relay bracelet to my sister-in-law and teammate Heidi. Thanks to my team for their support and all of those in my van who were so positive, fun, and encouraging. Thanks to my husband for talking me into signing up and telling me I could do it even when I am sure he had his doubt. But most of all thanks to myself for hanging in there over the months and being determined that I was going to make it happen. I am hard pressed to remember a time when I have been more proud of myself.

Memorial Day Tradition

Memorial day is always a fun time for Ryan and I because his Grandpa Hunt is buried in the Paragonah cemetery. Growing up he and his family would always come south for memorial day to put up the flag on his grandpa's grave at sunrise, which is a tradition at the Paragonah cemetery. Since moving to Cedar for college Ryan has carried on this tradition by himself and then I joined him 5 yrs. ago when we started dating. I always love doing this with him because we get to watch the sunrise together and it is always so pretty and peaceful at 5 in the morning. Another perk is meeting up with his great aunts Janet and Wanda who are still so funny and feisty! I love to sit and listen to all of their stories about growing up in a SMALL town many years ago and all of the things they got away with.

Midnight 5K!

I just ran my first 5K! It was the midnight 5K in St. George and everyone got glow sticks to wear. Thanks to my sister Cassie for getting me to sign on (by enticing me with getting a glow in the dark shirt) and to Ryan who encouraged me to keep working even though when I started I couldn't even run a full mile straight! I can now run 4 miles and counting... and for some insane reason have just joined a Red Rock Relay team. (A team of 12 running just short of 200 miles from Brian Head to Santa Clara)

Ryan ran it with me. He can out run me by far! I told him that he didn't have to wait and he finished in 28 mins.

Don't we look ready? Too bad it was harder than I thought. It was kinda uphill which to me trying to run seemed REALLY uphill. But Cassie did amazing, she ran the entire way and finished just a minute behind me. I ran it in 36 mins and she in 37 mins, which was amazing considering the fact that she had only ran up to 1.5 miles continuously in her training.

I was trying to show all of my fun glow in the dark stuff but it didn't really show in the pic.

Here I am with my "after" red and sweaty face. At least Ryan waited for me to stop hyperventilating before he took the pic. I thought the finish line was closer than it really was and I used the gas pedal WAY to early. I was dying when I finished.

New! Baby Drapes...

My mom has just finished making some really cute baby drapes. They are made to cover a car seat to keep babies warm, out of the wind and sun, and much more. You can let me know if you want one or we sell them at the hospital gift shop in Cedar City. We can also do custom orders if you want a specific pattern or color.

Here are some random pics that are fun from the last year. I am such a blog slacker that I never post the pics that I want to so here are a few!

This is Amber and I and YES I had my nose pierced for a while. I loved it but I took it out when I started teaching school because I didn't think it was setting the best example for my kids. I totally did it on a whim and its such a funny story. Ask me sometime! I had always wanted to do it and never had the guts and then I decided I better just do it before i got old and never had anything for my kids to give me a hard time for!

This is a really cool pic that i took at the Dixie Classic Futurity. It was Slic's first competition ever and he was the youngest colt there! He even won his first check, I was a proud mom! I can't figure out how to turn it and I am out of time!

This summer I took CV's girls Bball team to a tournament at UVU and we went up in two cars but then the other car had to leave early so on the last day we all (11 of us) GOT to ride in the suburban together. If you were a parent would you want me in charge of your child?!

So I sadly don't have any good pics yet but I just want to give a shout out to my new little friend Halle Kate Melling. She was taken by c-section yesterday after a long and stressful day for her parents and everyone that couldn't wait to love her. She is a beautiful little girl with ton of dark hair that weighed 6 lbs and 11 oz and was 20 inches long though we joked that when her cone head goes down it might only be 17 inches. I just want to tell how much I love her already and I cannot wait to tend her, and love her, and be her best friend, and most favorite aunt! We love you Halle and are so glad that you finally made it here! Great job Trevor and Heidi! Heidi did all of the hard work but I can already see what an amazing dad Trevor is. Congratualtions to the two of you!

These pics are from a while ago. This was the big round up day in Rush Valley. It was Slic's first big cow day and he did great! I don't think he has ever had to work that hard all in one day before.This is Ryan and his brother Chad. He insist on wearing that ugly hat when we ride. He thinks it is cool and I constantly give him a bad time about it and tell him I would never be seen in public with him while he is wearing it.

This is me on Slic and Ryan in his horse Slayder. To bad Cooper is not in the pic and it would be a family photo! I am embarrassed to be this close to him while he is wearing that hat. But there was work to do so I couln't avoid it!

Slic was go great he would get right in the herd and boss those cows around no problem. This was so much easier than sorting them on foot. I wish that I could haul him up there everytime we go to work the cows.

Last weekend my mom, dad, and I headed up North to go to the Utah State game. It was fun to spend some time with my parents. We spent so many hours on the road while rodeoing that we kind of got to where we like just chatting in the car. It was a fun trip. I spend all afternoon on friday painfully looking at cars and then stayed in Erda with my mother- in-law.
On sat. morning my mother-in-law and I got up and went to me 5 year old nephew's soccer game. Logan you are great! You might not understand why you get in trouble for pushing and stiff arming kids to keep them from letting you score but its ok, when you play real soccer you don't have to!

Football Season is finally here...

This Thursday I hope to see you all at the SUU vs: Dixie State game! Yay, football season is finally here! Some might be wondering why I am saying that like it is a good thing even though it means that my husband will be working long hours during the week, be gone every weekend, work every Sunday, and watch football every minute that he is actually home in between. Well its because now I can actually enjoy his job too! I love going to the Football games and I am hoping to make it to most of the games this season even the away games! I can't tell you how excited I am to put on my SUU red and black, save my seats in the staduim, eat a hotdog out of the back of the truck, and cheer my heart out! Does this look like someone who is ready to be an adult?...

I have finally settled in to my new job and I have made a vow to keep my blog up to date! I am teaching school at a private school here in Cedar and i love it! Who would have ever thought that I would be a high school English teacher. High school seems like it was yesterday and here I am about to turn 25 I can't believe it. Though I still feel the same I know that I am in many ways I have come a long way from the girl I was back then. It is hard for me to admit that I am... well... an adult. But i guess that's what you are when you have a real job/career where you go to work everyday and get an actual paycheck. Its the weirdest thing I am finally getting paid to go to school after all of these years!

I have struggled with keeping my blog updated. I have been so busy and we do not have the internet. I used to be at the college were I have access everyday but now I am all done we need to get the internet at home. Since I finished my student teaching I have been subbing at Canyon View quite a bit and tutoring some students at a private school here in Cedar. Ryan has been working and is getting ready for all of the football summer camps he is in charge of. We are in the beginning stages of FINALLY putting in our backyard so hopefully I will soon have some before and after pics. I hope all of you are doing well and you will soon be seeing more pics and happenings of our life!

Busy, Busy

It has been a while since I have has time to post. We have been so busy traveling for Christmas and I have been coaching girls basketball at Canyon View. We went on a snowmobile trip to Yellowstone the day after Christmas with Ryan's family. We had so much fun and we saw some great wildlife and amazing scenery it was truly a winter wonderland. I got to see Old Faithful for the first time and enjoyed the time we had with the Hunt and Harris families!
Ryan has been recruiting and I started my student teaching at Canyon View I have two fitness for life classes, a sports medicine class, two jr. English classes, and a freshman honors. I am really enjoying my time and can't wait until I can actually get paid for hanging out back at High School again. Needless to say I have been staying plenty busy lately!

Cooper and Diego were really good sports excepts for when we tried to take their pic together Cooper would not leave Diego's hat on his head. I am slow getting these on here but these are the pics of the trip I took up north a few weeks ago. I got to spend some great time with my sister and her kids that doesn't happen very often. It was really fun, I took the kids to get ice cream while Amanda ran to get groceries. They are all growing up so fast. Sydni is talking really well she kept saying "Ami you funny" and I loved every minute of it!

This is really not the best picture but I just have to show how bald he really was, luckily it has grown back really fast and now he is a fuzz head. Which is much better than his bald head!

Believe it or not this is ALL of Ryan's hair. I can't believe how curly it is. He tricked me into shaving his head. When I agreed to doing it I pictured it being more of a buzz than a balding but after I has already shockingly shaved one strip of his head I had to finish.

Cooper

Cooper is an Aussiedoodle which is a mix between and Australian Shepard and a Poodle he is now 4 months old and has already outgrown the size he was suppose to be. We love him all of the time but at some moments its harder to like him than others. He has been fun for us but also a handful.

He is the cutest when he is asleep and his mouth is closed not trying to bite.

This was after one of his first baths, he used to fit in the sink! It only lasted a few weeks.

Now he is almost full grown, well we hope so anyway since he is already bigger than we anticipated him to be.

I finally got to decorate my house! Ryan has been so anal about putting holes in the walls ever since we moved in and so I have never wanted to hang things up. Ever since we got married we have just had a mod podge of furniture from here and there. Like the coffee table that his parents got from their parents when they got married! It worked great as long as you were on the ready for you drink to slowly start creeping with the slope of the table. Also the table that my aunt gave up from her job in an assisted living where someone died and the family lived to far away to get her stuff so my aunt got it for free (p.s. it was a great little table!) So here is my not so new but muchly improved house!

This is me and Amber at the John Deere Classic in Las Vegas. Everyone came and we had a blast! Amber had more fun though because she actually won money!

College graduation!! Too bad I am not really done. Mike and Kristy are now happily married and in Northern Utah where they both teach and coach.
